I was going in for a major surgery and felt a chaotic mess about it, then there was the post surgery when I literary couldn’t speak, then we get to the crushing anxiety of sending my child back to school during a pandemic. Ya’ll I’ve been a MESS.

Continue readingWe have all done it. We finish a book, are in the mood to read another, but just can’t decide what to read next. No matter whether you are a TBR type reader or a mood reader, I feel like we have all been there at one point or another. Unread books run amok in our homes, our “want to read” files are miles long, ARCs are demanding our attention, but nothing is quite hitting the spot.
So, I thought today we would sit together and take a gander at a few of the books that are most drawing my eye right now and see if we can’t find something to read.

Continue readingHello hello, and welcome to the July 2021 Wrap Up here on Literary Weaponry. I talk frequently about my yearly reading slump that happens, without fail, every summer. This year it started creeping up on me in June and really had it’s claws in me throughout July. What amused me most, however, was that despite this being my least productive reading month of 2021 it is right on part with my average reading in previous years. I don’t know what 2021 has done to me but here we are. I’ve been a reading machine.

Here we are once again, time for another quarterly look at my most anticipated reads. I feel like I just finished writing the 2nd quarter post and 3rd quarter snuck up on me and smacked me right in the face. For a year, March 2020 – March 2021, it felt like the world was at an absolute stand still and time wasn’t passing in any way. It was a weird purgatory. Now, since COVID vaccines have rolled out, it seems as if the world has started moving again and it had an entire year to catch up on. Everything is moving so fast. Ya’ll, I’m tired.
But, you didn’t come here to hear me whinge. You came here to look at some books. As this is a book blog that makes sense, right? Well then, let’s take a peak at upcoming releases for the 3rd quarter of 2021 that have me excited!
All release dates listed correspond to their US release
Continue readingI don’t know if it is because I am busier than I have been in quite some time or because I have a Big Thing coming up that I am focusing or what is going on but I swear to you this year is going by more quickly than any have before. Maybe it is getting older that is making me feel that way. What I do know is that I have continued to read more in 2021 than I ever have before in my life.
Let’s take a trip together back over the last three months of reading and see, well, what there is to see!
