Today I did something freeing. Something that lightened my mental load even if only by a little. Today, I DNFEd a book that had been on my TBR for nearly a year. It had got to the point that I felt like I had to force myself to sit and read this book and I received no enjoyment from the experience. It just left me feeling more and more bitter with every passing page. So, even though I was reading this book as part of a reading discussion group, I quietly slipped it back onto my shelf where it shall stay. Now my mind and energies are free to explore other books and the worlds within them!

It is hard to believe but the end of 2020 is already starting its creep up upon us. I feel like I have done nothing worthy of note since December 31st but a pandemic and enthusiastic social distancing will do that to you. However, before this year winds down there is something I hope to accomplish. In January I made a list of books I wanted to get read during the year and, well, I have not been exactly successful with that. After culling the initial list, here are the books I hope to read by the end of 2020.

I have found that there is a very little more exciting for an avid reader than the anticipation of a good book release. You know that tingling pull from behind your belly button that urges you to just preorder it along with the excitement of the title finally showing up at your door. I love that feeling. I love opening my planner and seeing those titles that excite me release dates coming closer. Here are the titles I’m looking most forward to for fall 2020.
