We have seen the worst president in US history leave the White House to be replaced by the oldest sitting US president and the first female, non white Vice President, the common people make fools of wealthy investors in the stock exchange via Game Stop, and (on a more positive note) some truly amazing book releases.

Continue readingPardon me while I take a breath here to call myself out. Please feel free to roll your eyes at me at any point, I probably deserve it. For years I would scoff at “Reading Goals” lists. I could understand that they likely worked for many people but decided that they weren’t for me. I was content shoving a rating onto whatever book I happened to pick up, often write a review, and be on my merry way and not think beyond that.
Well, I’ve changed my mind. The last year or two I’ve overall been very dissatisfied with what I’ve read and after some thought…I made a list. It started off as a errant thought about how to better enjoy my reading and progressed to this, my Reading Goals for 2021.

We start a series, read the first book or two of it, then get distracted by the next shiny new story and forget to go back and finish the series. Or, as is more common for me, I read the first couple books and then I have to wait for the next one to be released and promptly forget about it.

Continue reading2020, as far as years go, was a great reading year for me. I read the most books I ever have, finishing out the year with 64. For some, that may not be a great deal but for me it is a great accomplishment. Unfortunately, along with that there are numerous books on my shelves that I intended to read in 2020 and just never got around to. I have a full Owned TBR but there are certainly titles on that shelf that pull on me more than others.
