Since returning to Literary Weaponry earlier this year, I’ve been struggling, I thought I could tumble back into this world of blogging and social media bookish interaction like no time had passed and I would integrate back in smoothly.

Continue readingI’ve been very absent here on my blog off and on recently. It is not that I have nothing to say, I’m just feeling overwhelmed as I’m sure many of us are lately. COVID, despite what the government is trying to tell us (at least in the US), is still running rampant and I’ve had to return to work in order to maintain my healthcare benefits. Work is tiring during normal times but worrying over the germs and whether or not I’ll get enough hours to even pay for health care is exhausting.

Hello Spring! I cannot explain how happy I was when the last of the snow finally melted and I could pull my flip flops out from the back of the closet. That reminds me that I need to paint my toes a properly springy color. I have a neon green that would be just the thing.

Ah, February. The Tuesday of months. When the year has just started and you aren’t entirely sure how it is going yet and it never stops raining. I intensely dislike February. It is also tax season which just gives you that mild panic feeling in the pit of your stomach for no good reason. February can bugger off. Outside of my personal feelings towards it, I found myself in a bit of a reading slump this month so I did not have nearly as many reviews as usual. Here are the posts that Did find their way onto the blog this month.
Most Fridays I will be posting a book review, hopefully, but I wanted to add something else. Reviews are wonderful but some Fridays just need a little something extra, especially those weeks that I don’t have a review to offer. In comes Free Write Friday.
The concept – Free Write Fridays will contain a short passage, poem, excerpt, letter to a senator, or anything else that has gone from my brain to the page during the week that is not a part of my main writing project. I often find myself jotting down a random free write when I’m frustrated with my main project and then it ends up moldering in a folder. Instead, I think I’ll share them with you. Could be fun!
