Hello, everyone! I spotted this tag over at The Bookish Chick and thought it looked fun. Really, it is that simple. Just was browsing and wanted to do a tag. No profound reasoning or thought behind it. How about that for honesty?

I have been doing these Down the TBR posts for several weeks now and, unfortunately, my TBR pile is still growing. When I started these posts my TBR pile was around 100, now it is over 150 even with the purging. Yikes! Maybe I should be a little more ruthless because I know I will never read all of these books. Lets try to bring the hammer down on it today, shall we?
Down the TBR Hole is a meme that was started by Lia @ Lost in a Story. Here is how it works:

The last two months I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut. We’ve all had them, I know, but it is still a bit depressing. So, while I haven’t been reading a lot, I have made my way through a few books. Here, I’d like to just give a short mini review on two of the books I have finished.

September is here and that cooler, crisp, refreshing air is just the thing I needed to recharge my batteries. I’m sitting here with my windows open, listening to the breeze, and watching the squirrels scamper around looking for nuts to hide away for winter. I think I’m going to have to make a pumpkin spice latte run here soon. Another thing amazing about this fall are the upcoming book releases! There are some fantastic book releases for September that I would love to share with you. (All release dates noted are for the US and title links lead to their Goodreads page)

This is my 8th trip down the hole. Lets see what is waiting at the bottom of it today! All book descriptions in italics are taken from Goodreads.

Lately, I have been terrible about actually writing posts. My problem is that my reading mojo slumped off back in June and I don’t fully have it back yet. I’m just not feeling it. Despite that I did do several book related things in August that I’d like to share with you.
August seems to be a month for exciting new book releases! I love spotting an upcoming release, months in advance, and eagerly waiting with anticipation until it is in my hot little hands. Below are my picks for August. Some you are probably aware of, others you may not be. All links go to their Goodreads page if you want to learn more! Continue reading

Every person is made up by their past experiences. The sum of those experiences makes them the person they are today. Their likes, dislikes, wants, needs, and dreams all have root in moments and memories. One of these moments from our past influenced us to become readers, we didn’t just wake up one morning with a yen for a good book without some kind of outside influence. Continue reading

I started Literary Weaponry for a few reasons. The first being that I have definite opinions about books and I wanted to share them outside of Goodreads and Amazon reviews. Secondly, I wanted a website for my resume as I have been applying for newspaper, library, and transcription work. I can’t deny that I hope to make money from this at some point, however, it is also just fun and fulfilling to be a part of this diverse reading community.
How does anyone answer that question? It’s like asking which kid is your favorite. I’ll give you a couple:
In books or in the world? In books I hate weak characters most. You know, that character that always needs saved and has no thoughts in their head and ignores the fact that free will is a thing? I hate that. I hate it more than love triangles and anything else. In the world, if I had to put a pin on it, I hate prejudices. It frustrates me to no end that I go out with my family and we get funny looks. I am Caucasian, my husband is Puerto Rican, and obviously our daughter is an adorable mix of the two. The looks we get sometimes just make my blood boil.
Salted pretzels with cheese dip. Holy moly, it is so hard to resist those. I need the warm, salty pretzels and the sticky artificially colored and flavored orange cheese dip. It is amazing.
Uuuuhhhhh. I’m not one for hobbies so that is a bit difficult. I love watching old MASH reruns. You can never have too much Alan Alda. I feel like I’m writing an ad for a dating website or something, “I love old TV shows, listening to the rain on the roof, and catching fireflies.”

I hereby tag:
All ya’ll. I mean really, if you want to do this, please do it! If you do pop your link in the comments so I can take a look. Have a beautiful day, everyone.

Typically on a Wednesday I would be bringing you WWW Wednesday as hosted by Taking on a World of Words. However, I did not read all week last week, have not yet this week, and no books are sparking my interest right now so it seems silly for me to talk about what I’m not doing. You follow my ramble there? Good.
