Continue readingLast year (2021) I began doing most anticipated release lists sorted by quarter. It felt like a good way to organize these lists instead of month by month because, as we know, publishing dates keep getting juggled during this pandemic. I was looking back on my unread books from 2021, seeing what I had read and what I hadn’t, and thought it might be fun to revisit this list with you all!
Continue readingI’d been pondering bookish things to write about. Did you know, it isn’t easy writing about books when you are in a reading slump? Who knew. However, I was scrolling along and stumbled across The Bookish Blog Tag over at Kristin Kraves Books and it sounded like a fun time. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find who the creator of the tag is but lets just dive right in, shall we?
Continue readingSome people are hard and fast DNFers. And, yes, I am using that as a verb, thanks for noticing. Other people wouldn’t DNF a book for anything. Me, I’m somewhere in between. I’ll not finish a book if it has content I find triggering, if I find the plot simply not to my taste, if I’m not in the mood to read the book at that time…the reasons are endless.
Continue readingRecently I was watching a booktube video from Justine @ I Should Read That and she mentioned that she had spent December trying to clear up her unfinished series. You know what I mean, those series that you started to read and just haven’t gotten around to finishing even though you really intend to.
So, I got in my head that I need to do a series cleanup. In 2022, I want to complete reading the series I have sitting unfinished on my shelves. Or, as a couple on this list aren’t part of a completed series, I want to read the remaining books that are already published.
Happily, as I was compiling this list, it turns out I don’t have quite as many unfinished series as I thought I did so I feel like it is absolutely reasonable to tidy this all up by the end of 2022.

Continue reading2022 snuck up on me. One minute it was Halloween and I was panicking about whether or not it was safe to take my kid trick-or-treating and the next minute the ball was dropping in Times Square and I was staring down the barrel of another year in the COVID era. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know where the time went. I think we are all just existing in a void at this point.
Continue readingI’m a fickle human being. Sometimes when I set goals for myself I find them motivating and strive to reach them. Other times those same goals can cause me to go into full toddler tantrum mode, when I absolutely refuse to do anything I’m told, especially if I am the one who told myself to do it. For that reason, I try to keep my goals for the reading year reasonable.
Continue readingEvery year I go into the new year with the best intentions. You know the list: have a more positive attitude, eat better, exercise, actually read the books on your shelves…
Well, I never actually read all of the books I intend to in the year (although I didn’t do too badly with the other items on my list). I do not think I will ever finish my entire Owned TBR, however, there are several books on it I had every intention of reading as soon as I bought them and then just…didn’t. So, I’m putting it out into the world. These are the book leftover from my 2021 TBR that I am determined to read in 2022.
Continue readingAt the beginning of 2021, I made a list of bookish goals I hoped to accomplish throughout the year. I tried not to make them unattainable goals but just things that would (hopefully) bring me more reading joy throughout the year.
Now, at the beginning of 2022, I’d like to look back on those goals for 2021 with you and see what we managed to accomplish. If you would like to look at the previous post, you can find it here.
