Looking back, it seems that every year I have the same issue. All summer, June – August, I barely read. On the rare occasion I do pick up a book more often than not I DNF it. I don’t know what it is about summer but it makes me miserable and when I am unhappy I don’t want to read or do much of anything, quite frankly.

Today I did something freeing. Something that lightened my mental load even if only by a little. Today, I DNFEd a book that had been on my TBR for nearly a year. It had got to the point that I felt like I had to force myself to sit and read this book and I received no enjoyment from the experience. It just left me feeling more and more bitter with every passing page. So, even though I was reading this book as part of a reading discussion group, I quietly slipped it back onto my shelf where it shall stay. Now my mind and energies are free to explore other books and the worlds within them!

Today I will subjecting you to something that makes my soul burn with the fire of a thousand suns- book title changes post release. I am a fairly easy going person which is not something I could have said ten years ago. In my early twenties I was uptight and refused to bend over the smallest of detail. The slightest inconvenience was enough to ruin my day. Now, I am happy to say, I typically simply don’t give a shit. There is very little in my life that sends me into a tizzy because, quite frankly, I have better things to do with my time.
