Welcome to my End of Year Wrap up for 2020. I think that this was a tough year for pretty much everyone but I for one took solace in my books this year. Because of that it was my most successful reading year yet at 65 books! I found new to me authors that I loved, reread some old favorites, and overall just escaped into fictional worlds when the real world felt like it was trying to crush me. Let’s take a look back at 2020 here on Literary Weaponry.

November Wrap Up
Here we are, once again, at the end of a month in 2020 where you don’t know where the time went or how you got here. Hi, how are you? Are you doing alright? Are we all in a cycle of existential dread or is it just me? Sigh. Either way, I actually read books in November. Hooray! After spending a large chunk of the year in a reading slump I am surprised now when I actually manage to get some reading done.

September Wrap Up

Looking back, it seems that every year I have the same issue. All summer, June – August, I barely read. On the rare occasion I do pick up a book more often than not I DNF it. I don’t know what it is about summer but it makes me miserable and when I am unhappy I don’t want to read or do much of anything, quite frankly.

I don’t know about you, but to me this entire year has felt like a whirlwind of insanity and confusion culminating in no little amount of pain. COVID, economic collapse (which means a lack of work hours for me), justifiable uprisings and protests for black rights, the government not truly caring about any of it…folks, I’m tired.
Continue readingMay Wrap Up

I don’t know about you but this whole year has me out of whack. First the weather has been off since January, then COVID and the chaos and fear that has come with it, and now it is the end of May and I have no idea how we ended up here. I also went back to work this month after taking a leave of absence because of said COVID which certainly hasn’t helped.
Continue readingApril Wrap Up

April, I think, is a month that brought many of us new challenges. With social distancing, face masks, and work changes all happening very quickly it was difficult to keep up with all of the new policies and rules and to get used to a new way of living day to day life. Personally, I’ve learned to enjoy curbside pickup although the feeling of panic when someone gets too close to you in public is something I doubt I’ll get used to.
Continue readingMarch Wrap Up

I usually try to start these wrap ups off with some sort of lighthearted jabbering. This month…well, I don’t have it in me. March has seen many people’s lives turned completely upside down within the course of just a few short weeks. Schools closing, businesses shutting their doors, people losing their jobs in the millions (3 million new people applied for unemployment in the US in March alone), and our very way of life interrupted. This is a modern day plague.
Continue readingFebruary Wrap Up!

February is an oddball month. Shortest month of the year, not the same amount of days each year, and you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. Are you going to freeze solid walking to the car or sweat your bum off planting flowers? You just never know.
Continue readingJanuary Wrap Up

January has once again passed us by and I never cease to be shocked about how quickly time passes. You blink and weeks, months, even years seem to fly by and if you are anything like me you wonder what you did with the time.

Every new year, it never fails, I am shocked that an entire year has already passed. It usually leaves me feeling really melancholy about the goals I wanted to accomplish but didn’t and where I want to be in life. I am trying to start off this January 2020 with a more positive attitude and setting a path to accomplish those goals.
