September Preorders I’m Excited to Read

In the northern hemisphere, with the turn to September, summer is finally feeling like it is over. Summer is my least favorite season. Being that hot is miserable not to mention there are never that many book releases in the summer that get my excited. But, with the change to cooler weather, my list of anticipated books grows longer!

So far for September I have six books already preordered…that I know of. Honestly, I feel like I am missing one and I’m just not all that sure what it is. I suppose it will be a surprise when it shows up. Despite my lack of memory in this case, I’d like to share the six books that I know will be be showing up for me in September.

August Wrap Up

August 2021 brought the return of my reading mojo! Every July, like clockwork, I find myself in a reading slump but I am very happy to say that it seems to have fizzled into thin air in August. In fact, it was my most successful reading month so far this year. I thought I would never top the thirteen books I read in March but August is closing out with fifteen along with two short story romances that I didn’t record because they were largely skimmed. Here’s what went down with my reading and on Literary Weaponry during the month.

The Fantasy Tropes Book Tag

I found this tag at And On She Reads and it seemed like a fun little tag to go through. Sometimes bookish tags are just fun little windows into your own personal bookish world! It is just sitting and pondering the books you’ve read or that are on your TBR that could fit each prompt. It is also relaxing which is a high priority this time of year. Fantasy has also been my favorite genre for years and I’ve made it well known that I love me a good trope. So, let’s take a dive into those tropes and see what we see.

Spooky Season TBR

Everyone, it is time once again for the absolute joy that is Spooky Season. Octobertime. Halloween. Fall Vibes. Whatever you want to call it, it is just around the corner. I for one cannot wait! First of all, it has felt as if I am roasting alive for the last two months and I’m longing for that cooler fall weather and hot tea on the patio. It is going to be spectacular.

Along with the more manageable weather comes one of the best parts of the year, the fall/spooky season TBR. I’m not usually one for setting TBRs (I typically fail miserably at that) but I love putting together a list of books that give me that fall vibe to give myself something to choose from while I sip my very basic pumpkin coffee.

What Should I Read Next?

We have all done it. We finish a book, are in the mood to read another, but just can’t decide what to read next. No matter whether you are a TBR type reader or a mood reader, I feel like we have all been there at one point or another. Unread books run amok in our homes, our “want to read” files are miles long, ARCs are demanding our attention, but nothing is quite hitting the spot.

So, I thought today we would sit together and take a gander at a few of the books that are most drawing my eye right now and see if we can’t find something to read.

July Wrap Up

Hello hello, and welcome to the July 2021 Wrap Up here on Literary Weaponry. I talk frequently about my yearly reading slump that happens, without fail, every summer. This year it started creeping up on me in June and really had it’s claws in me throughout July. What amused me most, however, was that despite this being my least productive reading month of 2021 it is right on part with my average reading in previous years. I don’t know what 2021 has done to me but here we are. I’ve been a reading machine.

Most Anticipated Releases | Third Quarter 2021

Here we are once again, time for another quarterly look at my most anticipated reads. I feel like I just finished writing the 2nd quarter post and 3rd quarter snuck up on me and smacked me right in the face. For a year, March 2020 – March 2021, it felt like the world was at an absolute stand still and time wasn’t passing in any way. It was a weird purgatory. Now, since COVID vaccines have rolled out, it seems as if the world has started moving again and it had an entire year to catch up on. Everything is moving so fast. Ya’ll, I’m tired.

But, you didn’t come here to hear me whinge. You came here to look at some books. As this is a book blog that makes sense, right? Well then, let’s take a peak at upcoming releases for the 3rd quarter of 2021 that have me excited!

2nd Quarter Wrap Up

I don’t know if it is because I am busier than I have been in quite some time or because I have a Big Thing coming up that I am focusing or what is going on but I swear to you this year is going by more quickly than any have before. Maybe it is getting older that is making me feel that way. What I do know is that I have continued to read more in 2021 than I ever have before in my life.

Let’s take a trip together back over the last three months of reading and see, well, what there is to see!
