Every new year, it never fails, I am shocked that an entire year has already passed. It usually leaves me feeling really melancholy about the goals I wanted to accomplish but didn’t and where I want to be in life. The new year, and new decade, is upon us and what else is a reader to do at the start of a new year but look back on the books they’ve read the past 365 days.
During 2019 I read 61 books and, according to Goodreads, my average rating was a 3.8. I have to admit, the first half of the year I read more books I enjoyed than the second half. After July, there were so many reading disappointments but that isn’t what we are here to talk about. I want to share with you the books that brought me joy.

The Literary Weaponry blog will be returning in January. The last month or so I have been overwhelmed with the holidays, starting a new job, and other daily unexpected life things that have taken up considerable mental and physical time. I didn’t take an official hiatus from here but it was quite obvious I was away.

It is finally that time of year when children are joyous and wound with anticipation for Santa and his reindeer making their yearly flight. Last December feels like it was just mere weeks ago and not an entire year ago. I think that the older I get the more quickly time seems to pass.
