Indefinite hiatus

I have been blogging here at Literary Weaponry for six years now. It’s been a good six years, with ups and downs, and has been a satisfying creative outlet for me. I’ve enjoyed sharing my love of books and stories with all of you and have appreciated every like and comment and interaction I have received.

That being said, blogging does not offer the same fulfillment it once did. It no longer feels like an outlet for a passion. It has begun feeling like a job I need to keep up with and a social space I need to stay relevant in. That isn’t why I started this. I wanted to share my passion for reading. That passion, too, has fizzled.

As of right now, I have previously scheduled posts up until May 25th but I don’t know what is going to happen after that.

I do want to thank you all for your support and your shared love of reading. But, for right now, it is time for me to step away for a while. I need to re-evaluate my life.

Again, thank you all, and happy reading. 🖤

Burritos but not tacos (in which case you are wrong but I will accept your wrongness with grace). You get my point. However, today I tried an old favorite (marinated mushrooms) for the first time in years and I just didn’t like them anymore. Big sad.

The same is true with books. Even if you read books with similar themes there will be some stories you like more than others. Along that vein, I got to wondering if the books I loved in the past would still be favorites for me today.

Most Anticipated | Second Quarter 2022

The first quarter of 2022 gave us so many great new titles. We had The City of Dusk by Tara Sim, Electric Idol by Katee Robert, and This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi just to name a few. I’ve found that the books I’m most interested in typically seem to be published in the first and fourth quarters of the year (I wonder why?) but April-June are bringing some great titles this year! Let’s take a peak at the books that have caught my eye for the second quarter of 2022.
