Last 3 Books | Added to my TBR

As a person who loves to talk about books, I spend I great deal of time discussing what I’m reading in the moment, what I just finished, or what I plan on picking up next. Rarely do I just have a chat about recent books that simply caught my eye.

So, that’s what we are going to do here. Let’s have a chat about the last couple books that I added to my general (not owned) TBR because they caught my attention for one reason or another. Pretty simple, right?

What Wakes the Bells by Elle Tesch – It has been quite some time since I picked up a YA fantasy but this one just calls out to me. Gargoyles abandoning their plinths to wreak havoc, trapped souls, mythic bells summoning destruction, and a gothic setting just to put the icing on the cake? I am absolutely sold. While I no longer have access to ARCs the way I used to, I am going to see if I can wrangle myself an early copy of this because nothing shouts my name quite like a gothic fantasy.

Blood on her Tongue by Joanna Van Veen – Here we have another gothic fantasy but this one is categorized as adult and, best of all, queer. And there are vampires. Yes please! I have had a thing for queer vampires since I read about my dearest vampire Lestat when I was likely younger than I should have been. It promises secrets, a positive sibling relationship, and the delightful stroke of madness. Early reviews for this title are glowing and I can’t wait to have this stunning cover in my hot little hands.

Wicked Pursuit (Black Rose Auction #1) by Katee Robert – I have yet to read a Katee Robert book that I haven’t immediately been sucked in to. Black Rose Auction is her newest adult dark romance series and I am here for it. This book promises the thrill of the forbidden, obsession, and a mob princess where everything is on the table…for a price. The second this book hits my e-reader I will be joyously swept up in the spell that Robert crafts so well.

It has been several years since I have found myself perusing upcoming releases and getting excited for what I find there. Returning to the online bookish community is amazing and the joy I get from sharing these stories with you cannot be replicated. Until next time…

Happy reading 🖤
